Inside all of us is a little. . .

According to legend, one day a man was wandering in the desert when he met Fear and Plague. They said they were on their way to a large city where they were going to kill 10,000 people. The man asked Plague if he was going to do all the work. Plague smiled and said, "No, I'll only take care of a few hundred. I'll let my friend Fear do the rest.

City Of Champions 4/07/06

Almost three years ago I lived in another province. For the year I was there I had seriously four or five friends. One of these friends had a history of constantly bashing Death Cab For Cutie. In this case its just funny because that same guy has just emailed me saying Death Cab For Cuties "meet me on the equinox" is the best thing in life right now. It goes to show optimism still does exist. I will never be satisfied with one particular genre. Dont forget to enjoy yourselves.

Tie My Right Hand To The Bible, Now Call Me A Liar.

Let’s dance in style,
Let’s dance for a while,
Heaven can wait we’re only watching the skies
Hoping for the best but expecting the worst,
Are you gonna drop the bomb or not?
Let us die young or let us live forever,
We don’t have the power but we never say never,
Sitting in a sandpit,
Life is a short trip,
The music’s for the sad man.

People : dont forget yourself!

A big shout out to a dude who goes by the name of K.C. You know who you are and I thank you for turning the light back on for me. A few genres have selfishly taken me away from my roots. Set Your Goals - Echoes. Enjoy yourselves.

M A S H E A D S P A C E

On the Friday night of November the 7th I attended a show at Shannons Irish Pub that shook the ground. The group is a local act that go by the name of Mas Headspace. I heard a lot about them but never had a chance to see them live. I walked in at about ten o'clock to notice a packed and loud crowd of what was about to become a psychedelic adventure. The frontman presented himself as what I would call an Isaac Brock with larger testicles, which in many ways is a good thing. To me it seemed like the lead vocalist was changing into a character of some sort from time to time. I also recall holding a pee for like six minutes because of a song they played that gave me a Quentin Tarantino production feel from a movie I once watched. At one point the lead vocalist pulled out a cow bell of some sort and became even more electric when I thought he had finally began to slow down. All guitar players seemed like they have found the right presence to fullfill the frontmans motions on stage. I can also honestly say that the guitar players are quite talented. The drummer looked like he was having a blast as well which completed the groups performance and integrity. A highlight for myself was probably when frontman put a viking hat on while performing a lovely little song about fungus. The band played basically two sets and didnt fail to keep ladies from dancing and eyes from watching. Mas Headspace has recently released a nine track album called Saffron Airfield. I definitely recommend checking out Mas Headspace in the near future. Kudos.

Are You A Passenger, Or A Spectator?

On October 28th I walked into The Burton Cummings theatre at half past eight. You see, the great thing about The Burton is that if you ever dont get a hold of tickets for a show, then always check the day of because they usually release more floor seats. . so word to that. Nonetheless I successfully got in. The crowd I inticipated all attended but to my surprise I noticed a few seperate groups of parents with small children which was cool. With five dollars in my pocket I purchased one Alexander Keiths and found my seat. Just as I imagined, the lights turned dim and right before you knew it Emily Haines centered the stage. They opened with Twilight Galaxy from their latest full length album called Fanatasies. The sixteen track setlist came nothing close to boring. I stood up during the entire show and was very impressed with the energy of each person in the group. They also didnt fail to prove their worthiness of a great live sound. Setlist continued as followed : Help, I'm Alive, Satelite Mind, Poster Of A Girl, Handshakes, Gold Guns Girls, Collect Call, Empty, Hey, Hey, My, My (Neil Young cover) for an intro into Gimme Sympathy/Sick Muse, Dead Disco, Blindness, Stadium Love. A great encore sealing the deal and proving their greatness couldn't have been any better with Monster Hospital, and Combat Baby(acoustic).
