13 Ways To Eat Healthy While Keeping It Cheap

1. SWITCH TO WATER
- cheaper
- healthier
Take a bottle of water wherever you go.

2. EAT EGGS
- full of vitamins
- high in protein
Don't believe "Eggs & Cholesterol" myth.

3. EAT FATTY MEALS
Everyone thinks you cant eat certain homemade meals. I read a few articles. It's all about the amount of calories you consume. As long as you don't go too far ahead.

4. GET WHEY
- cheapest source of protein ($70 for 10 lbs bag. Lasts approx 4 months.
(Whey is an option. You don't always have to get down with it.)

5. TUNA CANS
According to PETA, tuna fish accumulate mercury in their flesh. I think it depends on how much tuna you consume. All fish ultimately have chance of accumulating mercury, no?

6. BUY FROZEN VEGGIES
- less time
- you don't waste money if not eaten on time
- can be bought in bulk & stored in your freezer

7. USE A MULTIVITAMIN
Pesticides lower the vitamin levels of your fruits and veggies. Two solutions:
- buy organic food (too expensive)
- use multivitamin, $10/month

8. FISH OIL
- lower cholesterol levels
- decreases body fat
- reduces inflammation
I read that there is a product called Carlson's Liquid Fish Oil with lemon (by spoon), or you can also find liqui-gel types.

9. BUY GENERIC FOOD
Brand name food will always be expensive. You're paying for the name. I sort of agree with this, but sort of don't. Maybe because I find the best deals.

10. BUY IN BULK
- gets you discounts
- saves time
- saves car fuel

11. GO TO ONE GROCERY STORE
Instead of buying bread here, soap there, and apples way over the downtown area. Buy all of your groceries at one place, but make sure it is decently priced. Get competitive with yourself and find the gold mine. Make sure the product isn't too under graded, though.

12. MAKE A PLAN
- make a list of what you need
- eat a solid meal, and don't go hungry.
Routines will show after time, and making a list can be important. I learned this through an old roommate.

13. DON'T BUY JUNK FOOD
- unhealthy
- expensive
I know just like the next person that this isn't the last time I will have a burrito, but be smart about it and try. It will show.
